Projects Update

The White Oaks project has encountered some significant challenges as we have navigated through the development process these past few years.

Unfortunately, the city was not been as accommodating as anticipated, presenting obstacles that made it clear we had two options: to appeal to the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT) or to revise the design. After careful consideration, we decided to proceed with the design changes, and we now have an updated plan in place. While this has resulted in some unexpected delays, we are committed to moving forward and will need to go through the necessary steps again to ensure compliance and approval.

Despite these setbacks, we continue to push forward. The revised site plan has now been approved by our leadership, marking an important milestone. This approval will help guide the next stages of the project as we continue to refine the design. In parallel, we are progressing with the Official Plan Amendment (OPA) and Zoning By-law Amendment (ZBA) application processes. To facilitate this, we’ve engaged a planning consultant to oversee the submission and manage the process with the City.

While the path has been more complex than originally anticipated, we remain confident in the project’s future success and are optimistic about achieving further milestones in the coming phases.
