In our last update for Fonthill, we highlighted our focus on enhancing the project’s design to better align with market needs and city expectations. We noted that we have a full team of consultants actively engaged, and the project drawings have been significantly refined. A key design change involved the removal of the originally proposed underground parking level. In its place, we’ve incorporated podium-level parking, which offers substantial construction cost savings while maintaining functional efficiency.
Since then, we engaged SVN Rock to conduct a market analysis and feasibility study to support the redesign of this project. The redesign was submitted for a Pre-Consultation to the City on January 9, 2025 as we made changes to the development. We received comments from the Pre-Consultation and immediately involved the entire consultant team to proceed with the Site Plan Amendment Application.
The Site Plan Amendment Application was submitted on July 15, 2025. We are now waiting on the City comments which are expected to be received by the end of August.
As the City had no objections in the Pre-Consultation of the redesign, while awaiting the Site Plan Amendment Application comments the consultant team is continuing to develop the project, working on the working drawings to prepare for the building permit submission.
